Web Hosting
Clarinet offers a range of web hosting environments to match a range of customer requirements. Like all our hosting solutions, Clarinet, servers are located in professionally run machine rooms with excelent network connectivity, power and environmental controls.
Our web hosting environments run on variety of operating systems in the Unix family. In general, our environments support:
- SSH logins
- FTP uploads
- Apache web servers
- MySQL
- PHP
- PERL
RAQdevil

Clarinet staff have contributed to the porting of the Cobalt Server to the FreeBSD environment. We have found that FreeBSD has offered excellent performance, stability and convenience over the years that we have been in operation. RAQDevil supports full web and mail hositng facilities and operates on the FreeBSD platform. It is managed from a web interface.
ENSIM
Ensim offers a control pannel environment which allows the web site operator to manage users and site facilities. Clarinet offers Ensim on the Linux platform.
Custom Environments
Clarinet supprts a number of other customised Web Hosting Environments based around FreeBSD jails. These environments allow site developers to have the feel of developing on their own machine without incurring the price of a whole dedicated machine located in a machine room rack. They offer slightly less flexibility than a virtual server, but use less resources and hence costs less.
Customers have used these environments:

- as a stepping stone towards a dedicated system
- as a transitional environment from a dedicated system to a hosted solution
