Virtual Servers
Virtual servers are an intermediate step between hosting your own hardware in a data center and using an ISPs services such as web and e-mail hosting. Virtual servers look and feel like your own hardware running your own operating system, however, as the virtual machine shares both the computer's hardware and the space occupied in the machine room it is cheaper to maintain and operate than dedicated hardware.
