Setting Up Macintosh OS X Dial-up
Getting Started
Introduction
This guide helps you to setup a Clarinet dial-up account on a
computer running Macintosh OS X.
Getting Started
- Go to the System Preferences... panel under the
Apple menu (Figure 1). Click on the
Network icon.

- In the Network panel select "New Location" in the
Location menu and add Clarinet (Figure 2).
Select the modem you wish to use by clicking on it and push the
"Configure..." button.

- Click on the "PPP" tab and enter:
- "Clarinet" as your service provider
- In the "User name" field enter your Clarinet username
followed by the realm "@clari.net.au"
(username@clari.net.au). If your username
is "johnpublic" then you would put
"johnpublic@clari.net.au" in the "User name" field.
- Enter your password in the "Password" field
- "0198331332" as the telephone number
Figure 3 is an example.

- Press "Apply Now" when finished.
Connecting to the Internet
- Double click on "Internet Connect" (Figure 4) in your
Applications folder (Figure 5)

- Click on the Connect button in the
Internet Connect Application (Figure 6)
